Bio:

Richard (Dickie) George has worked at the National Security Agency as a cryptomathematician since 1970. He has spent his career in the area of information assurance, and he currently is the Technical Director of the Information Assurance Directorate.

Abstract:

This talk will address the National Security Agency's current
activities in the area of Information Assurance. The talk will discuss how
the Information Assurance mission has changed over the last 30 years, as
well as the numerous technical and political challenges facing the U.S.
Government in the area of information assurance. The technical health of the Agency, as well as the math and computer science communities will be addressed, and the Agency's list of research challenges in the IT area will be presented. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
