About CIAS

The increasing importance of the computer infrastructure to society, the increasing complexity of systems, and the increasing sophistication of attack techniques combine to make information assurance and security a vital strategic challenge.

The Center for Information Assurance and Security (CIAS) at the University of Texas at Austin seeks to be one of the preeminent academic leaders in Information Assurance and Security in the United States, by adopting a large-scale, end-to-end perspective - emphasizing national, collaborative efforts in information security research and education.

The Center is responding to the National need to advance the state-of-the-art in information assurance and security and to produce more trained information assurance professionals to meet the growing demand for skill in the area.

CIAS is housed in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. The Center is located in the Gates Dell Complex (GDC), located near the southeast corner of Speedway and 24th street and is connected to the Peter O'Donnell Jr. Building (formerly the Applied Engineering Computational Sciences Building - ACES). To contact the Center directly, please email us or call 512-232-7891.
